New Feature: Stage Select Redesign!

After much planning, coding, and hard work, we are excited to give you the first look at our new Stage Select Screen for Demo 2.5! We've carefully crafted this new screen to be both visually pleasing and convenient for players. In this design, the stage preview has been given more emphasis, and the stages are neatly aligned in a format intuitive to casual and competitive players.

We paid special attention to detail when designing the order of stages. Stages are now grouped together based on key components of their design. This includes platform layout, overall size, series franchise, and hazards. Also, the most basic of stages are located towards the bottom, while the more complex stages can be found on the top row. This will make stage selection more convenient during tournaments, as long stage lists will no longer need to be memorized.

Speaking of tournament convenience, we've also added stage striking to the Stage Select Screen!

You can now strike stages with the X button!

Built with tournament play in mind, the Stage Strike code works by highlighting any stage and pressing the X button. This will replace the stage icon with an "X" and prevent the stage from being selected. Press Z to restore all of the stages to normal. It's also possible to strike all stages that are not enabled in Random by pressing Y. Additionally, you can now switch pages by pressing the L or R button. Convenient? Very!

When no stage is highlighted, a classy Project M decal fills the void!

But if these characters that people already know and enjoy playing as were changed just for the sake of being 'different' and not 'better'? P:M is good not because it made changes to Brawl, but because it made changes to Brawl for the better.

Now that is pretty badass. I always wanted to revamp my SSS, but it looks like it's being done for all of us lol.

This is beyond amazing. It's the little changes like this and the audio fade that will in the long term really make the pre-game for this really awesome.

Wow! This is really, really neat! I remember thinking once that something like this arrangement would be possible, but I don't have the design sense to pull it off.

Huh. That fourth stage looks new. Is it a redesign of Norfair?

Edit: Fourside also looks a bit different? That is probably just me though.

The stage selection seems pretty similar to the last demo.
I hope before the final release they add another third-party stage. That Castlevania stage looks pretty lonely.

I'm almost more hype for this than I am for the new characters. Hot damn.
