Easier suicide techs?

|
Does being able to cancel from Bowser's/Ganon's suicidal sideB into footstool sound too broken? Sure, Bowser can recover (thanks to the buffs) just before he hits the lower blast line, but it's insanely difficult to do on some stages, and I don't even think Ganon can do it. |

Ganondorf actually dies first in the suicide sometimes in vBrawl. I personally think it would be too rewarding for them, but hey, Minus is about doing things first and asking "oh god why" later

Bowser's ability to recover out of his Suicide is a glitch we decided to keep as a feature. It works because of Bowser's increased size: he is just large enough for there to be at least one frame between his opponent crossing the lower blast line and Bowser crossing the lower blast line, allowing him to use his double jump in that single instant when he is no longer grabbing anyone, and just falling. It's not a footstool cancel. In fact, under certain circumstances, this is possible in vBrawl. Minus only increases the number of places he can do it, and buffs his recovery so he can actually get on with the surviving part. We're letting Bowser do it and not giving Ganondorf the ability to do it because the Bowsercide is controllable by the opponent: Bowser can't bowsercide someone unless their damage is higher than his. Ganondorf, however, can murder fist anyone who stands too close to the edge, and once it connects it's inescapable. |

MY vote would be no on the footstool cancel. I think surviving the bowsercide should require that super tight, hard-to-do timing, because it's just so much more awesome that way when it's pulled off successfully. Making it footstool cancelable would turn it from OH SNAP YOU DIDN'T into "Oh, you're killing me with THAT again." And yeah no way on Ganon. You can still survive the Ganoncide and still kill your foe on Lavaville, though, so knock yourself out. Or I guess don't, because that's the point. |
