I know this never goes anywhere - but can we discuss Ike's teamkilling properties?

Well, this has been my only gripe with brawl minus for a long while. Simply put, I end up doing a lot of team matches since one of my friends absolutely LOVES them. Ike is my favorite character. In the inebriated state we are when we play, this results in him frequently walking into my F-Smash and blaming me for his death. Now, my stance is this: brawl minus is a patch aimed at competitive AND casual players. It has the craziness that we casuals love, and the depth competitive players love. Ike's team killing does nothing for this. It won't really affect competitive play (especially what with team hit being on by default and all) so it has no effect on people who play Ike competitively. BUT it is a huge slap in the face to the casuals. It's essentially saying "if you have had more than 2 beers to drink today/aren't too good normally, play someone else for team mode". Which sucks because Ike is a fun character to use all around. And that's ultimately why I feel like this should be removed. It doesn't add anything to Ike persay, its just "lol I guess he doesn't sympathize with his friends either (and I'd be totally fine with it if eruption had team hitting, I must add, because that also makes sense with it being a big explosion and all. and would be a good way to keep ike dangerous to friends, but in a less frustrating way since its way harder to accidentally erupt than it is to accidentally f-smash) And creates a contradiction within his whole "fight for my friends" taunt. So it's something that affects only a small portion of the population (those of us playing teams with friendly fire off) and does nothing positive for any other people, but only does something tremendously negative for that group - it seems as if there is no upside to this functionality. Now I know it has been said time and time again that this will not be removed, but I was more hoping to have a discussion behind the reasoning for it staying. I've listed why I strongly feel that this functionality should be taken out and I'd love to hear some rebuttals. |

We've repeatedly stated that it's not going to be removed. Ike fights for his friends. It's also, afaik, a single move, his forward smash. Just don't throw it out at random. |

I've hit people with his down smash, and maybe his up smash (but I think only when the blade hits the ground)

The strength of Ike's team-hitting attacks are going to be weakened.
