Carrying people in grabs?

|
I saw in a video that snake was able to carry people (slowly) when he is holding onto them from a grab. Kinda like DK's grab. I tried slowly moving the control stick to move over, C-stick, shield, etc etc, I can't get it to work. Can anyone help?

Is Snake the only character able to do this? And should it be used to move closer to the edge every time for a bit if you aren't throwing them into a mine?

I would think the main use would be spacing your mine throws. Moving them away from things on the stage that your opponent is abusing helps.

Besides DK being able to walk during his Cargo Throw, Snake is the only character who can move during his grab wait.
