I'm a big gaming and Smash fanatic. I'm not a top tier player by any means but I have been following Smash since the beginning and when Brawl came out I followed Brawl+, Brawl-, and now Project: M. Just last night a few old friends and I wanted to get together. The guy's house we were going to had just broken his Xbox and so they asked if I had any systems to bring over. So I brought over my Wii with Project M. Unlike me, my friends were more your typical laid back gamer. They played smash back in the day, and have played other kinds of games but are more familiar with Call of Duty Black Ops and that sort of thing. None of them has played smash since melee, but they didn't have any bad feelings towards Brawl. It was just that none of them had ever bought a Wii. In any case, they all loved it, and we had an awesome time with our 4 gamecube controllers. We'd periodically drop in and out from game to game and play 3 or 4 players or add a CPU when someone was in the other room. So thank you, thank you for giving me back the good days of smash with my friends and keeping it fresh but solid. It was fun to play some of the older stages and also learn some of the new techniques. One of the guys was quite a marth player back in the day and he was remembering all the moves he used to do. In any case. I just wanted to create this thread and hope others pitch in too. I think it's great that you guys got exposure on IGN and I hope that more people are aware of and follow Smash Bros modifications in the future. |

Big thanks from me and the entire inland area of BC Canada! Impressed every time I play it. We all are. If this was the end product, we'd all be over satisfied already. Everything from here on is just super-extra gravy! <3 No idea what you've had to pull off to do this. Big <3 |

So, question for the P:M team or anybody really. What would be the most viable things we, as a community, could do to support the beauty that is P:M? Any ideas welcome. -Could we host a large, semi-national tourney in a state and invite the P:M team as guests of honor? We could also post this on SWF, but give it a cover title such as "Purple Brawl <state name here>", or something, then explain in the details that it is "mostly focused on P:M but has Brawl." -Could we promote donations of ~$5 from every player, or at least those who have expressed the most gratitude? I know asking for donations isn't the best thing, but it wouldn't be official from the P:M staff. -Could we all get together and ask every P:M team member their favorite food, then have one food per team member shipped to them paid by whoever wants to? This could get pretty expensive though, considering there's a lot of team members. -I really don't know what else to put here but I probably don't have many good ideas, lol. I just want to see if we can give back to them as a community in ways they never expected, just like they've given us a new game that is so much better than expected. |

Donations are a bad idea since the PMBR can't economically benefit from the project without infringing on Nintendo, HAL, and other companies. I try to help out on the Help section and make some stage hacks every once in a while. I think just contributing on these boards is support enough, really. That and playing the game of course.

@SapphireDragon It's so awesome that you like our game so much, and we really do appreciate that you want to give back. For now, the best thing you can do for us is to keep playing, and spread the word. Be conscious of the game when you play it, try different tactics, find what you think are abuses, and then test that to death too. The best thing you can do for us, is give this game some time, keep track of how your opinions change or stay the same. Then provide us with quality feedback based on your extended experience with the game. In the mean time help our community by contributing to discussions, or helping out people on the help boards. This goes for everyone. Thank you all for your interest and appreciation. It's not over yet though. Cheers to an even brighter future. |

The only donation we have right now is towards Magus. If you'd like to donate to Magus, click this link.

I intend on doing just that, being a part of the community and spreading the word about the game. In time, when my busy schedule clears up I plan on involving myself more directly with the project. Whether that means applying as a coder or animator or modeler or tester or whatever is needed (I have a 2-year degree in 3D Graphics and I'm working at a programming/game design degree at the moment), or if it just turns out that I do something more like what The Devicer does and just provide Stage/Texture hacks specifically for Project: M, that's fine too. Either way I'll be around. Whatever the case may be, this is a thank you thread and aside from 'pledging' my services, I do want to directly say thanks to the staff. Y'all doin' mad work without source code and y'all doin' a damn good job of making this game what it fucking should have been. GOOD SHIT! I don't even know any of you, but we all know how welcoming the Smash community is and I think in this extension of that I speak for everyone: y'all my boys. Rull proud of ya. |

Hey everyone, it's quite heartwarming to see all of the adoration and praise Project M has received thus far. We've put our hearts and souls into this game and it's an amazing feeling to see how much nearly everyone seems to like it so far. As far as ways you can "pay us back" for our work: spreading the word, playing our game, hosting tourneys, and attending PM tourneys is just about the best way! If you host a tourney near one of the PMBR we might be able to make an appearance, as well, and we typically have some presence at most major Melee tournaments. Don't forget to like us on Facebook
