After minutes of thinking on the toilet, (really ) I've come to realize that reducing Oli's size to .25 may not be the best idea: One of his most annoying matchups is against Falco, but a shrunken Oli destroys a typical Falco's playstyle, as grounded lasers will not hit. This forces falco to run in for chaingrabbing shenanigans, at which point, oli runs away and pivot grabs. This would likely hurt the other spacies, as well as pika.I think a more suitable size change is to .75. |

I hate to burst everyone's bubble, but more pikmin is pretty much impossible. You can make olimar keep pulling pikmin, but an old one will disappear. If air pulling is added, it could prevent being left without pikmin, disappearing pikmin could be a potential mindgame, and you gain more control over what pikmin you have. I would say that olimar having a close range flower effect would be a great idea, it gives a good advantage to attacking up close. As for recovery, give it more endlag and remove the fallspecial. It needs to have more endlag or it becomes a broken, stalling, uber Wall of Pain (even by Brawl- standards) Obviously, pikmin could get some damage and KB buffs as well. Overall, Olimar pretty much rapes with Brawl- hitstun. So, it shouldn't be too difficult to even him with everyone else. EDIT: Just got another idea, make olimar jump REALLY high in his recovery, but it doesn't "grab" the ledge. Then he loses the disadvantages of a tether and gets more recovery distance. |

Olimar's up-B jump should be as powerful as a 5-pikmin tether, and the ledgegrab should be availible from the beginning of the jump rather than the beginning of the specialfall animation. (Which with pikmin is ~1 second AFTER falling from the apex, while without, it's immediately after reaching the apex)

Sorry, looking back I realize that was REALLY confusing. I edited the OP two days ago, to help collaborate ideas on how to flair Olimar. Immediately (like two minutes) after, I bumped it because editing the OP does not change the status of the thread or move it up. BPC's post was from when he originally created the thread (whenever Brawl- was started), which is now deleted. |
