I think that in the final build of P:M, there should be an option in training mode for practicing shield pressure. A computer who is in shield (that only decreases in size when hit). The shield regenerates slowly when not being attacked (as it would if a normal person let their shield regenerate normally) There should also be an option to practice powershielding. A computer falco is on the other side of the stage and preforms SHDLs. There should be an option to increase difficulty making the falco fire lasers more quickly and at random heights. but an easy mode for people trying to learn powershields where the falco fires lasers more slowly. I know nothing about coding/hacking so sorry if this isn't possible, just thought it'd be cool to have these in the game, since they were kind of hard to learn on your own in melee :\ |

Oh C'mon. This is just frivolous. The time spent coding this would be ill placed. Great ideas, nonetheless.

I dunno Devicer. While I wouldn't want them to drop anything they're working on, I'd love to see a training mode that has real use. If it was the last thing they do, then it would be highly appreciated. A good training mode is pretty important to a fighting game, and Melee's was shit terrible which kind of makes it hard to get into. If they improved the training mode it might even help get people into the project. Especially since online isn't an option for practice and no one is able to play with people all the time. Even a small amount of training options would be nice. Like a regenerating shield, damage resetting on its own (on top of the feature of adjusting the dummy's current damage which they already have), telling the computer to DI in certain directions as well as the option to make it random, giving the dummy techroll options and more. All of these would be great and even more. It might not be easy to code and it might even be impossible, but there's isn't any Smash player that would appreciate a fully functional lab to practice when they have no one to play. |

Dantarion was messing with AI a lot before he kind of left, he said it wasn't that hard. If you want to see what can be done, going through this thread is the place to be. http://www.smashboards.com/showpost.php?...ount=49400 http://www.smashboards.com/showpost.php?...tcount=248 http://www.smashboards.com/showpost.php?...tcount=126 and bero http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_cX01zQCe1w Also if you don't use items I guess you could just have a modified star item that never loses the effect so that you can use it in training mode on the non-moving opponent and the hitlag you go through on hit is the same as shield, you'd also might want to modify it to have no sound lol. is the hitlag for starman the same as a shield? I know they are really similar, but I thought that there was a tiny bit of difference (at least in melee) I could be wrong though. |

I don't think i said that in a smashboards thread... my username on Smashboards is AesirGod, so if that was me who said that, sorry for forgetting that I asked that I guess ![]() that said, hitting an invincible guy isn't as fun as actually seeing the shield weaken and/or break. It also won't help you learn to look for pokes. |

Indeed also missing the shield angling and the sliding they get on hit (more apparent with shield DI). If someone made an easy infinite no sound starman that'd still be 2nd best (next to lvl1 Cpu lvl9 handicap 50% dmg ratio). If they made the CPU do straight shielding, I'm thinking either one of the commands for CPU status in training mode (Evade,Walk,Jump) would be replaced, or one of the CPU levels could be specifically and solely altered to be used as having all the script deleted except for to shield: I think it's hard to single out a CPU level though last I read or something. Also talk about shield pokes http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=pla...Jng#t=441s |

Instead of starman, just make a pac of a character with Body Collision: Invincible in their Wait subactions. Could set c-stick to shield and plug in/reset the controller with the c-stick held in a direction, and make a pac with Float Variable Set: LA-Float[3] = 50 (or less if you want it at less than full shield) in the Guard subaction. |

Interesting but ruins a character instead of an item lol, so you'd have to switch mods. for ppl: Controller reset=Start+Y+X for 3 sec (03/19/2012 05:31 PM)Magus Wrote: Instead of starman, just make a pac of a character with Body Collision: Invincible in their Wait subactions. Do Alloys have shields? |
