fox's shine should have 1 frame startup like it did in melee and it should momentum cancel like GaW's bucket does
more damage from lazers
a lot more hitstun on bthrow, uthrow, and dthrow.

-Shine speed WAAAY up (2 frames for the whole move)
-Laser damage up to 4

Apart from that, I think we should just start with the Brawl+ 4.2 .pac with those two changes and see how that fares. :V

never actually used brawl+ at all, but if you say so sir. other than making his side b and up B undisabling like the wolf we're doing. cause those are another source of agony for me and probably most people who haven't got it internalised not to use them near ledges where you can epic fail. -.-

Laser at 4 damage = too broken? considering how fast they fly and deal no flinch....hmmm....could you make it semi-chargeable where when it's charged a tad. like say for a second it shoots a ray gun shot instead? that way we can have a multi-gun style projectile for fox.

Reflector speed sounds fun. Momentum cancel is helpful, but doesn't it already do that? or is that just canceling or Vspeed? maybe make it radiate so it doesn't just deal damage at the start and acts as an overall shield of sorts, but of course give it a low priority so that moves can still break through it, but just so if they touch you without using an attack they'd get shocked and pushed away...

Most momentum canceling attacks do not slow you down when you are launched by an attack, they actually make you move faster away from the stage. The reason that gaw's bucket actually does momentum cancel is because they forgot to apply that code to it.

I like your idea of a semicharged lazer. If we do make that change, I think that the charged lazer should have high shield damage and infinite range.

Charging lasers takes away a bit from Fox's signature rapid-fire a bit, though, don't you think? At best, for the lasers, they should just fly farther, methinks. Forward smash is also lacking a bit in power, but I don't think that Fox is in need of any signifigant changes, besides perhaps general buffs across the board. I like the 1 frame shine, and it should damage throughout the entire time it is held up.

for the charging laser it's only if you hold it! if you mash the button to rapid fire it will rapid fire. but if you charge, it will fly across the entire stage and maybe have some stun to it or something. and yeah, shine buff sounds fun, or maybe just invulnerability during the start-up. but the speed sounds a better deal... and my "shocking shine" idea which makes it a special guard/shield of sorts.

ouchy that's a painful though. you mean like a stream of those normal lasers so you can just hold down the button?

All those ideas you had before, plus:
Make his side B 5% stronger, and it spikes like Falco's. A bit larger hitbox, and decrease the cooldown of the attack to virtually zero. Doesn't make him go into freefall.
Jab has higher damage by 1% per jab
U-Smash even better by 3%, making it do 20, but keep the knockback
Landing lag from Dair= virtually none, if you can do that thus enabling epicsauce Dair-->Utilt combos, especailly when you
decrease the knockbacck of u-tilt to even less then vBrawl by about 2/3

ah. I gotcha. so to rapid fire you just hold the button. sounds decent.

Careful of recovery spamming, etc, but I'd say that should just work. cause that should stop me from epic failing all the time. >.<'

you mean like foxs version of happy feet or something? T.T. and yeah, that up smash is deadly. especially like it used to be on 64. it still seems to be one of the strongest middle weight character smash attacks. -.-

Melee Fox comboable Uthrow and forced-teching Dthrow would be nice to have back, and maybe a 64 Uair, where the first hit pops them up a bit instead of just stunning them, letting you combo it into itself or something else if you cancel it by landing or something. Something really just needs to be done about that uair, I think.


If that's not broken enough, what if Nair had IASA on hit or something, so you could instantly combo out of it when you land it?

What if Usmash had a windbox or something, or caused a huge, lingering gust of wind to send people upwards even if it misses?

Just throwing out ideas here.

I like the idea of being able to do that downkick bounce thing that falco can do... I gotta work on it though. I never actually tried it before except for last night. but I did get it going for about 6 hits on bowser before I slipped and his super armor thus bounced it off and I got shelled. -.-

I'd say maybe reflectors could give some short invulnerability like wolfs taunt, cause then you could have an alternate count attack move to get people off you. expand it's hit box too so it's like wolfs. hmmm...that gave me an idea for falco's reflector....

Umm... I think a 2-frame shine is good enough. Seriously. Give him a two-frame shine, invulnerability during frame 1, and we have our shine. 2 Frames is absolutely stupid in terms of speed.

Ideas from the fox board.

Limitless range of laser.
Double his running speed, literally.
Make Illusion jump cancellable and add more hitstun to it (give it combo potential).
Give Firefox (on launch) more damage, around 20%'ll do.
Give down air lightning attribute.

Make a stun-like hitbox around his down smash.
Laser goes all the way across the screen.
Dtilt angle up, knockback down. Maybe make Ftilt knock the opponent down for tech chasing? Nair knockback should be nerfed, definitely.

Any of this sound good?
