I was playing Project M for the first time at my friend's place today. I really enjoyed it, but we ran into a pretty big bug while playing.

In a 1v1 4-stock match between Lucas and R.O.B. on Castle Siege (Fire Emblem), R.O.B. picked up a Smash Ball. Upon activating R.O.B's Final Smash, the game froze and there was a loud buzzing noise. My friend and I ended up restarting the Wii. I hope this helps!

I've been encountering an odd problem when trying to add textures to characters. Some background I'm using an SDHC and the Riivolution channel. Basically I can only replace the textures of characters that have already have replacements in Project M, (e.g. Game&Watch, Zelda, Sheik, Charizard, Sonic.) Though in the cases of Sonic and Charizard only the two/three costumes that were previously reskinned may be retextured. With that said I'm looking to replace the textures of other characters as well. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I keep thinking that spike strip is a hazard even though it's not, lol. A shame that hazards are apparently really difficult to edit.

I noticed when playing that many glitches that were present in Melee and implemented in attack styles such as Fox's wave reflector were put back into Project M. While I think that a lot of them are cheap and unfair, I noticed one was removed. It's a helpful tactic to gain ground quickly but can still be combated against effectively, much more than some other glitches.

I haven't loaded project m for like a week, but for some reason today it would randomly load up the brawl data instead of the project m data. Meaning that when i choose final destination, the brawl version of the map shows up. I also noticed that instead of the brawl version of the character i was using would be loaded instead of the project m one. Whats odd is that it would have the project m character select screen and not the brawl roster.

I'm going to try describing what i did today, if any of you guys want to try reproducing this..

It first started when i went into training mode (before this point the lay out of the menus were the project m version) and i chose lucario versus a mario (blue colour, level 3). I loaded final destination ( i can't remember if the icon was the project m icon for the map or brawls version.) When i loaded the stage up it was definitely the brawl version and Lucario's moveset reverted back to the brawl. I quit training mode, and just thought that project m is supposed to revert to the brawl version of the game in the training mode. So next i went back to versus mode and noticed that the game menu reverted to the brawl version (the character select screen still shows the project m roster).

I rebooted my wii and booted up project m again and randomly in between matches project m reverts back to brawl. I'm probably going to format my sd card if this problem persists.

EDIT: So i played 2 games vs the computer and it ****ed up again. It loads the brawl versions of maps. For example, when i click on the n64 hyrule map, it loads the Brawl TP stage ( the one with the big bridge), when i load saffaron city it loads a brawl map as well. BUT the characters are using their project M move set.

I'm worried that this might brick my wii

Opening a thread to discuss Lucario's best and worst stages, and how we should counterpick vs certain characters.

So far I don't think Lucario is bad on any stage. He can handle any stage, but I do think he's especially good on smaller stages (Yoshi's Story, Fountain of Dreams, Battlefield, etc.) simply because you can't get away from him. So long as you space the stage correctly you can go through anything with a Double Team and start your combo. Furthermore, he can KO a lot sooner on stages with small walls like Yoshi's Story.

If I had to choose an absolute best stage for him currently it would be Yoshi's Story, but I want to hear everyone else's opinions.

Yeah so, I recently got to play the newest demo of project M( Its amazingly awesome btw :3) So being that Mario Circuit, Summit, Flat Zone 2 and a bunch of other stages that I found annoying where still there, I decided to change them. So I went and switched Mario Circuit with Peach's Castle 64 and Summit with Temple. As time passed by, I noticed that whenever a character was knocked into the ceiling, they would fall straight down like a rock. It was as if they had 300 damage. Puzzled, I went to Target Test 1 to see if it was only my downloaded stages that were bugged. And surprisingly they weren't . As Snake, I would attach a C4 onto my partner and whenever my partner would hit the ceiling, he would fall straight down as if he had 300 damage!

Well anyways, I thank you for taking the time to read this and have a nice day!

Brawl- freezes after CSS - help!

I've been having trouble getting Brawl- to work. I'm sure its something simple that I've missed, but as of right now I've tried several things and can't get past the CSS. As soon as I press start, the game freezes.

Since I've been messing around with files trying to get it to work, I've just erased everything on my SD card and started with a clean slate. Help me figure out what to do next. I'm using the download link from this website.

So here's what I've done up to this point:
-Wii system version 4.3U
-Installed homebrew channel via stack smash
-1GB SD card
-There are no custom stages on my wii or SD card
-These are the items on the root of the SD card: apps, codes, private, gameconfig.txt, TeamTextures, background.png, boot.elf. I deleted the riivolution folder since I'm using Gecko.
-Under SD:apps I deleted the riivolution folder. The Gecko1931 folder is still there.
-In SD:codes I deleted RSBE01_Riivolution.gct. I didn't do anything to RSBE01.gct, RSBE01_Smashstack.gct or BrawlMinus2X.doc. (when I tried renaming RSBE01_Smashstack.gct to RSBE01.gct before, the game still froze after the CSS, so this time I'm leaving the original RSBE01.gct there).
-In SD:private\wii\app\rsbe I renamed "st (use for stack smash)" to "st"

Test run with the above specs:
Turned on the wii. Plugged in the SD card. Opened homebrew channel. The Gecko icon is there. Gecko opened without problems. Clicked Launch Game, Gecko found the SD codes and applied them. The game opened to the customized brawl- opening screen. Chose Group > Brawl, selected mario for player 1 and player 2. The customized MS Paint pics of the characters come up for the portraits at the bottom of the CSS. I press plus to go to the SSS. This time, it pulled up the SSS and froze with an obnoxious buzzing sound before I could even move the cursor. Edit: Before, it would freeze on the CSS before it got to the SSS.

So, fellow brawlers, help me figure out what I did wrong. I'm not trying to use any custom character skins or stages or anything. Any help is appreciated, and I promise I'll post whatever the fix is to try to help future n00bs like me. Sorry for the wall 'o' text.

Anything I can do about this? Create smaller partitions? I've tested the exact same files from my old 4gb on my 32gb one and it just doesn't want to work. I'm using the most recent version of Cfg USB Loader and up until now, have had no issues. I tested both the most recent version of Brawl minus and the 2.1.1 that currently resides on my 4 gb and works perfectly.

What do?

Oh, edit: Forgot to mention-- it loads the basic configurations (4 stock, 8 minutes, Lavaville shows up sometimes) but doesn't load any special portraits or movesets or anything.

Cfg Usb Loader says that it found codes and then runs the game as if the codes had loaded properly, but then the splash screen doesn't appear. The only indication that it worked *at all* is the 4 stock 8 minute thing.

Edit 2 for further information: I'm running 4.2U pretty-close-to-launch-day Wii with the most recent d2x v7 Final wads in 245-251 as base 36. Brawl is launched via 249 in all cases.

Edit 3: Forgot to mention, tried running it through USB Loader GX to no avail.

Hey all, so I recently was dumb enough to get the new Wii minus, so no GCN controller for me. Anyway, I was trying to see if Project M would work with the remote, and if it did, I was going to go out and get the classic controller pro. As soon as project M launches within brawl, the little light on my remote shuts off and it becomes unresponsive.

Is it just the version of Project M that I have or is it something with the Wii Motion Plus remote?

I'm not exactly sure what version of Demo 2.0 I have, but if it helps I have a 3GB SD card. Any help at all would be appreciated. I just want to play!

*EDIT*
Sorry should have searched this before. So I learned that its the wii motion plus that causes it not to work. So without that on an older controller, it should theoretically work with the classic controller. Awesome.

You could've at least taken me out to dinner before this Nintendo....
