Is there anyone in the PMBR working on specific stages? I feel like I've read some mention of this before, but I'm not really clear on what their role is. Are they working on making all/most of the stages tournament friendly? What does that include (guidelines/mission statement)? Are there stages being completely redone like Green Hill Zone (if that was even created by the PMBR)? Or am I just insane and this was never stated? Also, if this is a real thing, will some "new" stages be included in the next demo? |

Well Mewtwo2000 has created or assisted on several melee and n64 stages. That's all I can say really. His role in the PMBR is very small and he enjoys having distance from the project.

Lylat is indeed horrible to play on. But you know what? It's probably the most stunning of all the stages in brawl. The whole stage spans around 5 .pac files, each holding a unique part of the Lylat within. When you get the chance, do yourself a favor. Get the unrestricted camera, select the stage, and watch just how immense everything around you is. The stage itself could be fixed with a few things. 1. Reduce or remove tilting 2. Raise platforms and perhaps remove the center one. 3. Flatten the stage out a bit 4. Make the stage less likely to gimp you . The mods on this site already use + versions of several stages. Why not lylat? |

I agree with removing tilting and raising platforms. The stage is hella dumb for swords and, I would assume for PM, Jigglypuff, since she is amazing on FoD already.

Now imagine just how good it is for Marth Vs. Fox. Marth dominates there to a degree that makes yoshi's story look like a neutral stage. The tilting pretty much removes constant laser spams from being a threat. Openings become just about short hop f-airs... Jiggs too. She's got no problems working on that stage. |

I really like the new Castlevania stage I saw on one of the streams...it was much smaller, and had a cool design in the center. That brings me to another question...if this stage were to be included in Demo 2 or the final release, would there be replacement music included with the demo download? It would be odd to have a Castlevania stage without Castelvania music. Obviously each user can add whatever music they like, but I have trouble with every guide I stumble upon (the one I keep getting linked too has a megaupload source for one of the programs, and is it even possible with the stage-loader option?). I'm sure most people would prefer not to have to do this. |

Yes, it is possible to use custom songs withy the hackless method. It's possible with all methods.

I've been doing some stage work for P:M. I did the recent edits to Castlevania. Someone asked the question about an effort to make most stages tournament valid? Currently, that is more of a personal goal than a project-wide goal.. There is a passive effort at this point to fix-up a smaller group of stages. I would not expect to see a lot of serious discussion concerning editing stages until the core game and characters have come, more, to fruition. That being said, that conversation may never even happen, however, if you like my work it will be available on BrawlVault. Some of it is available already. Things that are more sensitive to the project will become available when it is appropriate. On the subject of Music, I can make my music available on the Vault as well. If you, and others, are having difficulties creating your own music, I can write a very simple guide. Although the guide Vyse wrote was enough to get me proficient. |

I wouldn't mind tourny valid stages as long as there was at least 1 stage that help each character, which shouldn't be as hard as it sounds since some characters have similar play styles.

For the love of God and all that is holy, please bring back stadium 1. I really doon't know what the pmbr was thinking on that one. Taking away one of the most played stages in tournaments was kind of a flub...

Pokemon Stadium 1 has been shown off in videos for months now. We removed the transformations for a while because the windmill utterly changed the way the stage was played - And we've moved it into the background now, so it can't be interacted with.

what about the stupid rock phase? or even the tree? I think those caused more of a problem than the windmill. when those pop up, its usually just camping, nobody tries to actually play during those phases (especially rock) |

...If you remove all the phases, you just have PS 2 (which doesn't transform at all in PM).

All those things you listed may make it annoying to fight on at times. I personally don't like the stage either. That doesn't make the stage broken, though. It is still an incredibly popular counterpick stage. The low ceiling and plenty of room give characters like fox, pikachu, and falcon insane options. And to Shadic, the fanbase has been pretty much lulled into thinking that half the stuff we see on streams will change in the near future or never see the light of day again. Since there hasn't been anything remotely close to official stage listings, I just assumed PS1 to remain gone. I do think that the lack of auto-sweetspotting ledges warrants a look at stages without solid sides (Halberd, Kongo). Though you may run the risk of pineappling people, not being able to ride the wall, especially on Kongo, can be incredibly frustrating. It also allows effin Pit, Zard, and Peach to shark under the stage, greatly improving their recovery. |

I would appreciate a simple guide very much. I really hope that stages become a larger priority as the project draws closer to completion. I really like the Castlevania and Green Hill Zone stages, and I hope to see more stages of the sort included in the game. It gets boring when you see the same three stages get picked every time...so if there are more quality, universally-used custom stages, it'll really help break that up. Will there be official announcements of stages? Or will we perhaps get a list before release? |

Who knows, maybe. It's hard to say what direction stages will take in the project end-game. Fear not though, there are a variety of quality stages available right now, and I know I'll at least continue to craft competitive stages. Whether official or unofficial, there will be options for the community. |

I'm not a fan of the background of Final Destination M. It either seems too dark (almost purely black), or the colors are very odd. I doubt this'll ever be changed, but I just figured I'd voice my opinion.
