Nerf the missiles a little cause they're kinda uber homing until the point where they fly past you. Keep their knockback etc but maybe make them not so far and mobile. Super missiles should maybe freeze them on the spot so you can spam damage on them cause it just makes them fly off somewhere. but it is quite annoying when she nails you with one right on the edge and despite frantic button mashing you can't get unfrozen till you hit the bottom and die. T.T Up smash, less end lag. If you get a full charge and you use super missiles instead of 1 it fires 5 in a row and uses up the charge shot so it's like diffusion missile or whatever that move was called on MP2 and 3. have the bombs sit around the stage if they don't hit something kinda like toon links arrows when they hit something and stop so that you can lay traps around with her. or if not, make them have a random chance to explode bigger and stronger kinda like a powerbomb attack... (cause the first statement will negate that bomb jump technique wouldn't it... I never use it though but I see it being used sometimes) and question: How big is samus' allowed file size, and is the rumor true that riivolution bypasses the filesize limit? cause I thought I saw that in a discussion on smashboards somewhere about riivolution and someone said that it bypassed the file size limit or something. |

I think the best way to help with the bomb idea would be to make it so that it goes by a timer when used in the air, but sits like a trap when you use it on the ground. Also, Samus is annoying but still very mediocre as long as you can find your way around the missles(SH Airdodge does well so long as you don't become too predictable). I like his Super Missle idea a LOT, and I agree with the idea on the up-smash to make it somewhat combo-able. Maybe have JC IASA before the freezing hit so you can choose whether to freeze them and do a bit of damage before they break out, or JC out into a u-air or something so that you can continue stringing hits. Or an even better suggestion is to make it so that getting hit by her up-smash at any point will ALWAYS lead into the final freezing hit: of course, if this is the case then maybe actually increasing the lag afterwards(like Rob's Neutral B) to make it more punishable if they miss. Something about the old Samus that I truly miss: her stage-crawling side-B's. This doesn't even have to apply just to homing missles: imagine leaving a super-missle on the ledge. xD To compensate since it would be easy to run out of missles and not have any to fire, I think one should dissappear after a certain number. Like if the max is four, if 4 missles are on the field and you attempt to fire a fifth, then the first one dissappears. etc. |

Samus and Zero Suit Samus are at the limit of their file sizes. Adding a single line to either one will crash brawl. We can, however, modify existing lines that are already in their files.

gah, well that's a pain... cause most of articanus' ideas were good too... XD camp missiles on the side of the stage, dunno how they would be physically possible but it's be pretty damn lolful. XD

If you're a good samus and use all her b-moves and include her Zair, it becomes a real pain to approach you. I should really make a combo video with Samus. |

Would it be possible to make her up-smash cancelable with your space limit? I think that would be great for her for a small change. |

I don't use Z-air much cause I forget too, but I use a whole lot of missiles and boots to the head (bair, uair, or Nair). |

After some experience, I'm posed to say that Samus is a good character but her homing missiles don't work against the higher teir characters. Characters that outmatch her close range game and can stick to her give her a hard time.

I don't have much trouble with samus' no matter who I use, but I know she's somewhat weak to bowser cause he can just tank his way through and flatten her... and samus isn't gay as crap. lol. I was taught by some random stuck up pro person that "if you don't like getting gimped/camped/spammed you're playing the wrong game." So I took it to heart and now I spam the buggery out of the spammers when i get the chance to. it's just a matter of finding the right move for the job if your character even has one.... come to think of it, a Link vs samus projectile spam up match actually sounds fun now with brawl minus. lol |

I like fun dumb ****. I had a 5 zair combo on some noob's Luigi. I also buried his DK off the side with homing missiles. Honest to god, the zair combo was more fun for me.

I honestly like the camping aspect of Samus. Every version of smash has a camper. Samus is minus's. If you don't like to camp then pick a different character. I agree that her missiles should be nerfed. As a Samus main I say thay lol. However every time I brought it up in the skype chat, I was always rebutted if your opponent was good they would get around your spam. If they don't want to nerf her, well, I have fun overpowering my opponent with every projectile I have, so I'm not complaining anymore Oh yeah, Samus crushes all people in projectile battle, especially Link. Falco kinda gives her some trouble, but his reflector is also a trap to get zaired so it's not that bad for her. |

Smash64 did not have any campers. You could claim the Fox was, but his laser was far to inconsistent. You could claim that Link was, but he suck anyways. You could claim that Pikachu was, but he had better options. I've actually never played Melee (which made Waveshining harder to pick up), but I've heard that Marth and Fox were top and they were unable to camp (I think). Samus- takes camping to a whole new level. I think that new level is too far.

When I say being campy, I mean utilizing it as a tool to start your comboes. In 64 you couldn't sit there and fire all day, but you could definitely force opponents to approach you and exploit their options while they were getting around your projectiles with Pika, Fox, and Link. Camping was definitely possible in melee with Fox. He was the best, and if played the right way, he could camp other characters to hell an back. Hyrule Temple was baned because characters couldn't win against campy Foxes in the melee days. I see your point that Samus's camping is at a whole new level, but you forget that all of the characer's combo and close range ability is also at a whole new level. If she her projectiles weren't as effective as they were, she wouldn't be able to take on top teir characters where she is obviously outclassed at close range. You could argue she is win button against low/mid teir characters, but as far as I am concerned the way she is now lets her just barely stand toe-to-toe with Luigi, MK, Wolf, Fox. She's obviously not the best when compared to the top bunch, so why should she be nerfed? |

I have no knowledge about Melee, so I'll let that go. Apparently, people seem to think it was a good game. Anyways, in 64 (my strong suit), approaching wasn't a problem because the projectiles weren't as good. Even though you forced them to approach you, it wasn't a giant problem for them. Instead of nerfing Samus to heck and back, I think that her projectiles should be nerfed to the point where they are possible for most characters to avoid. Then her close range game should be improved. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jPNCLK71SFk I know that is with no DI at all, like attacking a sock puppet, but she has a decent ground/air game. Maybe if Uair brought them down, Bair had less BKB, and Dair had less startup and more BKB, she wouldn't need to be a boring character (IMO). I mean, Zair does 10%. As I mentioned earlier, I thought it was amazingly fun when I had a 5 Zair -> Dair combo. The Side B -> Side B -> Side B... was not as fun. |
