an AT in melee and B+ where if you do an aerial and slide off a platforms very edge it cancels all of its endlag leaving the opportunity to do what ever you want
I see no point in not having this in b-.
that's edge canceling, and its not in b+
it's just extra weight really, not necessary imo
it might not be necessary but it makes the game more fun and allows for even more unique combos and would enable characters with less combo potential to have alot more.
You are speaking of ledge cancel GK, platform cancel is an AT in vBrawl which exists in any mod of Brawl.
Ledgecaneling would indeed be awesome, I love it.
fix'd
actually tson it is in b+... or at least the last build i've been able to download.
it just doesnt work with stuff like falcons up b like it did in melee
Guys more combos no downside you guys
guys Rkey knows whats up you guys.
downside is ripping more stuff off of b+/P:M, which we cannot do
Tson,
no lie if its in b+ you always say no or get sketchy over it, stop being bias against things that are in b+.
b- is about fun not about this game has it so we cant have it.
So, sorry, and not to hijack the thread, but why can't we take things that are in Brawl+ anymore? I know that we're taking things from them already, but if they're good ideas, who cares? We already have no tripping, and I think everyone wants to add the Brawl+ buffer.
Besides, I'm pretty sure that Brawl- will still stand out on its own fine even if we take a few ideas from other projects.
The more things we add from B+ the more like B+ we become, and we lose our advantage.
No we're not, our advantage is that we're focusing on the game being fun.
I know, as a fact, that every single swedish player would like the game more if we had ledgecaneling.

But would it really bother you if it wasn't?
Ledge canceling is one of those 'techniques' that is just straight up glitchiness from Melee. There's no reason to waste code on it.

That's a solid argument, it's not like we need more combos really. Hmm...
I can't decide since I like ledgecanceling so much in melee.
I disagree with the "we can't have things from B+ because we're the opposite" logic. If something makes the game better, then it should be considered. I still disagree with adding in this ledge canceling though. I doubt it would be worth spending the time to code such a small and situational mechanic. It would only slightly help the combo game but it's glitchy/unpolished and it's a pain to have to explain all these little mechanics to everyone. I don't think B- is aiming to be a game based around mastering tons of little glitches and secrets.

Just wanted to chime in and say that the code is already made and has been out since like last Fall. The code already exists so... your argument here isn't valid.

It's not a glitch, or makes the game glitchy in any way. It was completely intended, just like L-canceling, and the ability to airdodge into the ground, which later led to the discovery that WD/WL were useful. Iirc, ledge cancel was in 64, watch some Isai vids.
wavedash and waveland were intended too, it just ended up being abused far more than they thought it would.
