I'd personally love to see a Skytown stage. And if they got the Boss Ridley model to fly in the backround of Norfair it would absolutely make the stage for me.
As for Pikmin I'd love to see an Awakening Wood or Perplexing Pool re-skin of SSE:Jungle. The environments in Pikmin are just too great to not have representation.
For the person who asked about R.O.B., I personally consider Pictochat to kind of be his stage. Sure it's not the same "series" per se but it's more of a general Nintendo theme.
If Sonic receives a second stage (I'm not saying he should) Planet Wisp would be cool. The stage is absolutely beautiful and it's from the Wii exclusive Colors.

How on earth is Pictochat R.O.Bs stage? That doesn't even make sense, R.O.B wasn't for the DS.
I think a "real life" stage would be cool for R.O.B. like battling in a living room or something. Or even better, battling in front of the TV in the living room from Chibi-Robo, giving that franchise rep while giving R.O.B. a stage he could call home.

ROB is an accessory, not a character. He doesn't deserve a stage.
It's like they made the Wii Fit platform a playable character in the next smash game. He doesn't even count. I'd argue he is even less of a character than Charizard.

And Charizard isn't a character......because?

I'm sure some of the people here will pick that up.

Mainly because any other stage for R.O.B. would feel... forced. Pictochat represents aspects of Nintendo that aren't in any specific series and having a "Real Living room" wouldn't fit in a Smash game imo.
R.O.B. doesn't have any locations associated with him whatsoever, so I don't see a need to give him one. Pictochat doesn't have a character and since it shares similar themes to R.O.B. I just associate them in my mind.
But that's just my opinion.

Okay... Back on topic..
Charizard stage!
![[Image: 326420.jpg]](http://sharetv.org/images/guide/326420.jpg)
I can't find a decent pic of this, but it's the place where Blaine's Magmar and Ash's Charizan fought on the volcano.

I'd like it if they brought back Luigi's Mansion. Sure, it's not exactly competitively viable, but I liked the aesthetic and it was a lot of fun to play on (at least for me). If possible, just move the pillars into the background like they did with the windmill on PS1 so that you can't destroy the stage anymore.
06/20/2012, 03:27 AM
They plan on bringing all the stages back once the stage expansion code is bug free.
What if all the platforms were made pass through? It'd be a lot more viable and fun that way.

Needs more elaboration o:

Not if you've ever played on the stage... you can only pass through the ceiling of the first floor in the middle of the stage... the rest of the floor can't be passed through, and creates a stupid cave of life... and it's so tiny you're really restricted in there...

These ideas are great and all, but most of the ideas I'm seeing are theming ideas. I like them, but if I were making stages just based on which aesthetics I like, I would have hundreds of stage projects. Try proposing some stage layouts with your other ideas.
Also ROB's stage is totally not Pictochat, nor will it be a real room.
Let's not forget Gyromite
I would say ROB, Bowser, Olimar, Snake are the only ones in desperate need of good new stages. G&W, Lucas, Marth/Ike, ICs probably could use stages too. Beyond that, maybe another Pokemon or Starfox stage.

Bowser's Bridge may make a good stage. I'm picturing a flat platform, with a moving platform on the left side going up and down. There's lava below the stage, either rising and falling or at a constant height, and fireballs jump out on either side from time to time.

And, after you win they tell you your princess is in another castle!
-Bowser, maybe a edited version of his n64 worlds.
-I think G&W would just have simple Battlefield-ish 2D stage.
-For Olimar I would suggest one of the bridges you can create from the Pikmin series over a Distant Spring background with a few platforms with Pikmin hanging around it. Or we can have a Olimar(Pikmin) battle scene with a Bulborb.
![[Image: bulborb_by_koeskull-d3a1938.png]](http://fc08.deviantart.net/fs70/f/2011/051/e/8/bulborb_by_koeskull-d3a1938.png)
-Snake... not many dropzone's in a realistic game, aye.. Maybe in a helicopter or on top a plane or something.
-Are slippery floor's legal in tourney play? If so, just give them a mountain top with maybe 2 moving floating platform's, similar to Smashville, and roll with that.
-ROB, give him a GC or a Wii stage... come on!!! Also, wasn't ROB in one of the Mario Karts?
-I never played Mother, no comment on Lucas. Maybe bring back New Pork but reduce the size greatly.
-Marth/Ike, never really played Fire Emblem either, played the first one, but I forgot how it was like. Maybe a stage with the Dark Knight in the background.
I always thought it was cool to have a stage with intro or credit animations in the background.
Picture FD with a Smash 64's intro in the background.
-Bowser, maybe a edited version of his n64 worlds.

For Snake would it be too much trouble to just remove the walls in Shadow Moses and cut off the bottom floor so it's no longer a walk-off? Aesthetically the stage is very cool and I'd love to see a playable version of it.

I pretty much agree with Vigilante. As such, I've decided to expand upon my Metroid stage idea. The following contains tiny spoilers for Metroid Prime 3: Corruption.
Why is there a need for a new Metroid stage?
Despite having a total of three stages dedicated to the franchise present in the standard stage roster, Metroid is poorly represented. One problem with Norfair, Brinstar, and Frigate Orpheon is that they'll likely never see much competitive presence. However, the main issue with these stages is that with the exception of Frigate Orpheon, they represent the NES, and SNES eras. Yes, the games from this era were instrumental in developing the franchise and hold their own among some of the best action platformers ever created. However, since the advent of the gamecube, Metroid underwent some key changes that these three stages completely ignore. Most of the PM playerbase is only familiar with titles that appeared after Super Metroid and have only played earlier installments out of desire to connect with the roots of the franchise. Metroid's recent titles, though true to their predecessors, have begun to deviate from stock lava pits and underground caverns. This change, along with more recent titles, deserves recognition.
How do you propose to fix this?
Metroid Prime 3: Corruption was an epic conclusion to Samus' fight against the defiling effects of Phazon. It's sheer scope, stunning visuals and immersive gameplay introduced many new gamers to the franchise. It's generally highly acclaimed and sold in decent numbers. Corruption solidified Metroid's transition from an action platformer to an adventure series. Those are a few selling points. However, by far the most important one of them all is this: It's a Wii title. It represents turning a new page for the franchise and it's entry onto the new console. It also doesn't hurt that every stage comes from the first Metroid game for their respective systems.
One of the most unique locations you get to visit in Corruption is SkyTown on Elysia, an outpost originally designed to be an interstellar observatory. It’s operated and maintained solely by self-aware robots, most of which pose no harm to Samus and actually try to aid her. This essentially makes the entire observatory a giant, multi-layered puzzle. The notion of a level almost entirely void of enemies would be laughable in most previous titles in the franchise. However, Corruption pulls this off in style.
Take a look at these images to get an idea about how SkyTown looks like:
![[Image: Main_Landing_Site_Elysia_right.jpg]](http://images.wikia.com/metroid/images/9/96/Main_Landing_Site_Elysia_right.jpg)

How would the stage layout look like?
The beauty of using skytown as a stage is that it's models and textures can be ripped directly from Corruption's .ISO file. The station contains many circular platforms floating in the sky. Most of these have that amazing bowl shape that pushes people towards the lip of the stage. The main platform could directly borrow from a scaled down model from the game.
I'd like to see a stage the size of FD with a single long platform floating in the center positioned at a height similar to DL64 or BF. Imagine Halberd without transformations or hazards, a higher central platform, a smaller stage, and better collisions.

Nice attention to detail on the bottom part.
In term's of the stages overall display I was thinking the same thing. A stage with one single long platform.
If it's not going to be a Metroid stage then have it somewhere else.
