Not really a new stage, but I think Skyloft should act sort of like the Delfino Plaza stage (like the floating island you start off on disappears when it gets near Skyloft's ground).

Spoiler:
This is what I had in mind so far(circled areas are parts where you could land, dotted lines="path"):

EDIT: how do you use the spoilers tag?
Spoiler:
use [sblock]
Also no. Delfino is a bad stage.
This is a good idea but I'm not so hopeful for it because pretty much all area's will be
walk-offs.
^Yeah, that's true.

Is that better?
Maybe on top of the Statue of the godess(where Zelda gives Link the parachute after the ceremony) so it would be like a Mini FD.

The floating island near the waterfall, with added platforms.

On top of the Knight academy, with dropzones of course.

And. maybe to spice something up. the ride will end on the Bazaar shop.

As a long time player of Pikmin 2 on Gamecube, this is EXACTLY the thing that I feared from the Wii versions. On GCN, your pointer moved with your character, and you couldn't move yourself without moving the pointer too. In retrospect, this may have been an artificial limitation caused by the game only using 1 control stick for 2 things, but nevertheless, the game was built around that restriction. Being able to run away from enemies while throwing Pikmin towards them gives you a clear advantage that did not exist in the original game. I'm glad that someone who has played the game can confirm exactly what I was expecting.

Now speaking of stages...

Try not to make stages with platforms stacked above each other (like WarioWare's). It's always better to have them spaced out horizontally, regardless of their height difference.
One stage I'd like to be changed in the future is Dracula's Castle. I really like the layout of the stage and it looks amazing, but it just doesn't sit right with me because it's not a Nintendo stage.

I'd love if the layout and platforms were kept the same, but the background and color scheme were changed to be turned into Bowser's Castle. The way the platforms move even make it feel like it should be Bowser's Castle.

Behold Mewtwo2000's Luigi's Mansion.

Nor is Shadow Moses or Green Hill Zone.

Castlevania is Konami as well.
I support Melee's "Grab the Trophy" stage being in Project M. :3
Castlevania may not be Nintendo but it's one of the most iconic franchises of the NES, GBA, and DS. Frankly I was appalled that Snake got into Brawl instead of Simon.
The Trophy stage actually sounds like a good idea. Just take out that middle thing and also flatten the sides.

EDIT: Hmm, with that in mind it looks like PS1/2.

Then you'll be upset to hear that Snake was actually supposed to be in Melee, but they didn't finish him in time. It was a favor to MGS' lead developer, he LOVED Smash 64 and really really wanted Snake in Melee. He actually personally requested that he be included in the roster. But the marketing team had the development team pressured, as usual for AAA gaming companies.

EDIT: Which, because Simon didn't make it, I don't think Dracula's Castle should even be in this game. It should be that green Luigi's Mansion retexture of DC. But if they do keep DC in, they really REALLY should brighten the stage up. It's borderline unplayable because of its un-brightness.
I actually find Castlevania playable, I just don't play on it for that reason, haha.

Whenever I pick random and DC is up I just go.. "...Dammit... whatever.."

I'd like a stage based on a nintendo console. Gamecube would be an easy stage to do and very playable. xD Even a sideways Wii could work...

I thought that was pretty common knowlege, but that doesn't make it any less stupid. Snake doesn't make any sense in Smash Bros. Dracula's Castle is very fitting in the same way that Pictochat and Smashville belong. There may not be any character rep from the franchise but they're still big parts of Nintendo history (less so for Pictochat).
Trojan is right that it doesn't make sense.
But knowing Sakurai, nothing really has to make sense.
Who, after having the best selling game on one platform, goes and almost completely redoes the formula for the sequel?

I think one of the Mario Karts had a Gamecube stage. Maybe someone can import.

To be fair, brawl is no flop either...

In 2008, Melee had sold 8.1 million copies whereas Brawl had sold 7.47 million copies. Keep in mind this was 2008.
If you guy's threw some Dino's into SSE: Jungle, and took some music, you could easily pass it off as a level from star fox adventures. Just saying.
